Qatar recently concluded a €5 billion ($5.9 billion) deal with Italy to buy seven Italian naval vessels within the framework of military co-operation between the two countries, said a report.

The announcement was made at a joint press conference yesterday (August 2) in Doha in the presence of Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Angelino Alfano, added the Gulf Times report.

Sheikh Mohamed noted that Alfano’s visit to Qatar also witnessed the signing of other agreements between investment agencies in the two countries to consider joint projects and exchange of opportunities between the two sides.
