Qatar Development Bank holds workshop for exporters

Qatar Development Bank (QDB), through its export programme ‘Tasdeer’, organised a Product Certification Workshop to raise awareness among Qatari exporters and introduce them to the requirements and standards of importing countries.

The workshop will also help Qatari exporters learn about export procedures, as part of its continuous efforts to promote national products, said a statement.

The workshop addressed a number of important topics such as the compliance assessment process, product regulation orientations, the Middle East compliance program, and regulatory compliance tools, it said.

Standards, laws and export procedures, including documents necessary for the access of goods and products to the importing country, are also highlighted. During the workshop, the special requirements for building materials, electricity, mechanical products and other industrial goods were also discussed, it added.

Abdul Aziz Bin Nasser Al Khalifa, chief executive officer of Qatar Development Bank, said:
“The organisation of this workshop emanates from our keenness to support national products by providing Qatari exporters with the data and information required by importing countries, in order to help them easily reach regional and international markets and deliver their products at the specified time and quality.”

“We provide all available opportunities and aspects of support assist Qatari companies of all types and sizes in effectively driving the industry and production in Qatar towards achieving further progress and success, in addition to strengthening and diversifying the national economy to attain self-sustainability, in line with the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030,” he added.

Through its ‘Tasdeer’ export programme, QDB is supporting Qatari exports in regional and international markets and is opening up new markets and outlets for Qatari products through participation in international exhibitions, which enhances the role and competitiveness of SMEs in those markets.

The programme also provides many services to develop the potential of export companies, through participation in activities and events around the world, joint programmes, development and promotion of exports, training workshops, distribution of specialised guides, and more.

‘Tasdeer’ also provides financing solutions for exports and insurance coverage to Qatari exporters against the risks of loss of funds resulting from forward selling on credit, and exporting overseas, as well as providing consultation to exporting companies and supporting sectors, in order to improve export efficiency, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
