Qatar Development Bank (QDB), in its endeavour to support the food and beverages SMEs, recently participated in the Food and Hotel Asia (FHA) 2018, through its export development agency 'Tasdeer'.

The event was held from April 24 to 27, at Singapore Expo and Suntec Singapore.

Hosting a special Qatar pavilion, it offered a platform for SMEs to showcase their products and services and gain better business ties.

FoodAsia, the largest food industry event in Asia-Pacific region, has a proven ability to attract the right profile and quality trade visitors from across Asia.

The list of participating companies included Qatar Meat Production Co, Global Farm for Agriculture, Agrico Organic Farms, Gulf Water Plant, United Mineral Water, Albina Snacks, Kaafe Chocolatier, Oryx Mushrooms Farm, Qatar Food Factories, Gulf Food Production, In-Q Factory & Co, Al Sultaiteen Agricultural & Industrial Complex (SAIC), and Colosseum Doha.

Abdul Aziz Bin Nasser Al Khalifa, chief executive officer of Qatar Development Bank, said: “We are always on the look out for platforms to support SMEs gain global access and in continuation with that, we have been participating in several global trade exhibitions.”

“In addition to providing SME’s with the needed support to contribute to the country's sustainable economy, we offer these companies such platforms to make sure that they reach out to greater markets as well as showcase their unique offerings to their prospective clients,” he said.

“FHA has been one such platform where we find higher synergies and a perfect setting for SMEs to display their products and services. This year’s edition has been one of the best shows we have ever participated and our exhibiting companies benefited a lot from this avenue. In future too, we will keep on offering such enabling platforms to the Qatari SMEs to not only ride their growth but also help in achieving Qatar Vision 2030,” he added.

The event is a mega tradeshow synonymous with the food and hospitality industry in Asia and beyond. Since last four decades, it has grown tremendously in tandem with Asia’s food and hospitality industry and has earned itself a reputation as the most comprehensive premier international food and hospitality trade show in the region.

This biennial event has proved to stay relevant to the Asian markets’ needs.

From innovative food ingredients, Halal food and beverages, speciality coffee equipment and accessories, unique tea blends, the latest bakery equipment, the most stylish of tableware and furnishing, to disruptive technology for backend foodservice or for front end guest experiences and many more, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
