Qatar-based telecommunications company Ooredoo has appointed Saoud Hamad Said Al Riyami as its new business sales director.

In his new role, Al Riyami will play a key role in leading the company’s entire business sales team to drive the Ooredoo’s business forward, said a statement from the company.

A seasoned sales professional with 14 years of experience in a number of industries, Al Riyami began his journey with the Ooredoo’s business team in 2009 as an account manager in the SME department. He later worked his way up to key account manager, department head and eventually to his current role.

Al Riyami has led an impressive track record with Ooredoo. Over the years he has been instrumental in supporting lead projects, developing B2B indirect channels, introducing sales customer relationship management (CRM) and developing business sales strategies, it said.

Prior to joining Ooredoo, Al Riyami worked with InterContinental Hotel Group in Oman, Doha, and Frankfurt (Germany), and as well as with Mercedes-Benz.

A graduate from Sultan Qaboos University, he also completed a service industry management programme in Australia.

On his new role, Al Riyami said: “Over the past nine years, I have grown alongside Ooredoo and in my new position, I will lead my team to achieve the company’s corporate goals.”

“By empowering and energising team members to deliver extraordinary results, I am optimistic that we will be able to reach new heights,” he added.

Ooredoo benefits from the skills of many highly qualified and experienced Omanis in a variety of management and senior positions and is dedicated to the development and creation of opportunities for Omanis. Through its Omanisation programme, it recruits, trains and develops talent enabling the people of the sultanate to fulfil their career potential and contribute to the growth of the nation, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
